PRIVACY POLICY FOR USE OF EPAN SITE
1. APPLICATION OF POLICY
This policy ("Privacy Policy") describes Panasonic's privacy practice in relation to personal information it receives through the EPAN Site relating to personal information. All use of the EPAN Site and services associated with it is subject to the Privacy Policy to the extent that it involves the collection and use of personal information.
This policy only relates to personal information. Personal information is information relating to an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion provided. Personal information may be included in the information:
- which you give to Panasonic when you make an application to access and use the EPAN Site ("Application Information"); or
- which Panasonic actively or passively collects from you when you visit the EPAN Site or when you transmit any information to Panasonic using the EPAN Site or transact any other business or place any orders through the EPAN Site ("Activity Information").
In this policy, such of the Application Information and Activity Information that is personal information is collectively called "Information".
This policy only relates to the EPAN Site. You should be aware that if you click on a link or an advertisement which takes it to another website, you will be subject to the privacy policy of the owner of that site which may differ from Panasonic's. You should check the privacy policies of these other websites and should not provide any personal information unless you feel comfortable with the level of protection on that website.
2. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
2.1 When you apply to use the EPAN Site
In order to be considered as eligible to use the EPAN Site and the services associated with it, you must first submit a completed EPAN Application which is also an application for a username and password to gain access to the EPAN Site. When you make an EPAN Application, Panasonic will require, among other information, the disclosure of your name, company, existing Panasonic account details, position title, company address, phone and facsimile number, e-mail address, user categories required and financial information. This information is used by Panasonic to evaluate membership eligibility, and to communicate with prospective users and registered users regarding any matters associated with the EPAN Site and the services associated with it.
2.2 When you visit and browse the EPAN Site
A cookie is a small amount of information stored in a text file which is transferred to and stored on the hard drive of the user's computer. A cookie is a file that only stores information. It is not a program file that launches any action on the user's computer. Cookies do not themselves personally identify users, although they do identify a user's browser.
Like many other companies, Panasonic uses cookies. Panasonic does so because cookies:
- help Panasonic to keep track of user's preferences;
- keep a record of user's activities while using the EPAN Site;
- allow Panasonic to monitor user's use of the EPAN Site and services associated with it; and
- assist Panasonic in enhancing the content of the EPAN Site.
You can disable your web browser from accepting cookies and you will still be able to visit and browse the EPAN Site but you may not be able to utilise all services that the EPAN Site offers.
2.3 When you use the EPAN ordering, inquiry and application services
Panasonic will collect information provided by you in order to, amongst other things, record placement of orders, respond to applications and generally maintain a data profile on your procurement and related activities using the EPAN Site and services associated with it. You will be able to view this information using the various inquiry pages on the EPAN Site.
3. INTEGRITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION
Panasonic has implemented appropriate procedures and installed appropriate equipment to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the Information which it holds. Panasonic will keep these arrangements under review to ensure that Panasonic is doing all that is reasonably and technically feasible to protect the confidentiality of Information.
While personal and other commercially sensitive information is stored in secure environments and Panasonic has policies in place, Panasonic cannot guarantee that Information is completely safeguarded against misuse, alteration or unauthorised disclosure.
Panasonic will retain Information until it is no longer reasonably required at which time the Information will be erased.
4. USE OF INFORMATION
Panasonic intends to use the Information for the following purposes:
- administering the EPAN Site appropriately for users;
- developing and improving the content available on and the layout of the EPAN Site;
- notifying users of updates to the EPAN Site and administrative matters;
- notifying users of changes and variations to the EPAN Agreement and standard terms and conditions of sale;
- sending users relevant information, advertisements, special offers and other marketing information (except to the extent that a user requests Panasonic to not send part or such information);
- to ask for feedback about Panasonic's products and/or services; and
- to make statistical data for marketing analysis.
Where Panasonic is legally required to provide Information to a third party Panasonic will do so. Third parties who wish to enforce their intellectual property or other rights may also require Information from Panasonic. Panasonic may provide relevant Information if Panasonic considers the request is necessary to protect Panasonic's business or reputation.
5. CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY
Panasonic may without notice amend or modify this Privacy Policy by posting the amended Privacy Policy to the EPAN Site.
6. ACCESS TO INFORMATION
The first time you access the EPAN Site using your username and password, your Application Information will appear for your review. Each subsequent time you access the EPAN Site using your username and password you will be able to access your Application Information on the EPAN Site by following the relevant links.
Where Panasonic is reasonably able to do so it will provide you with access to other personal information it holds (including Activity Information which is personal information). If you want to access such information please send your request in writing to:

7. ACCURACY OF COLLECTED INFORMATION
Panasonic may at your request, replenish or rectify any incomplete, inaccurate or outdated Information. If you wish to change Information that is inaccurate or out of date, please send your requested changes in writing to:
